FAQ – Laundry

Why won’t my appliance spin?

One reason that your appliance will not spin is if it is unable to drain. Have you tried checking and cleaning the filter? Removing debris from the filter may help your appliance to work properly.

If the filter is not blocked, is the hose blocked or kinked? If it is then remove the blockage or straighten the hose to fix the problem.

The appliance will not spin if the load is unbalanced and will just tumble back and forth. This typically happens if you have a mixed load, for example bed sheets and towels being washed together. Try redistributing the load or removing some items.

The ‘spin explained’ section on our buying advice page provides a detailed explanation of how it works.

Dirty or clean water is coming into the appliance from the sink.

This is an installation fault. Please contact your installer to correct the plumbing issue.

You can find the filter behind the plinth, on the front and base of the appliance.

How do I unlock the door of the washer dryer?

If the door will not open after a wash, wait for the timer to release. If it still does not open, try putting the appliance on to a spin cycle.

Some machines have a lever near the filter which will manually release the door.
